VERA LACEY-Class 4

Vera Lacey (Misewich) With husband, Nick, Vera lives in South Vancouver. When asked what she retired from, Vera responded, a homemaker never retires (aint it the truth Vera). She is happiest travelling to distant parts & enjoying a happy home life. Her favourite journey was their first cruise to the Baltics and touring in South America and she hopes to spend the rest of her life enjoying good health, good friends & family. (Lets drink to that!) Her fondest memories of Jayo were the grad dance and making new friends and her proudest achievement was in raising two fine sons, Neil & Ian, and building our own summer home at Lake Errock. Vera would like to be remembered as a happy uncomplaining person with high standards of conduct and her motto is live and let live; be understanding and lend a helping hand if needed. In her words, Veras last 50 years are summed up thus: The last 50 years have had their ups and downs, but mostly ups. After having worked for 5 enjoyable years for an insurance company, I quit work to raise a family and be a full time homemaker, enjoying and working on our home, summer cottage, sewing & doing crafts.

CATHERINE LARSON-Class 2

Catherine works as a sales associate at Eatons. She and her husband Peter O'Brien have 3 children and 2 grandchildren. She enjoys art work and travels to England and Switzerland. Her favourtie memories from school include the dances, costume club and sport days, while her most embarrasing moments were "too many to mention." She describes Mrs. Green, as her most unforgettable person and a "wonderful teacher."

BOB LEE-Class 4

Bob was a fireman according to rumour. He is married to Kathy and lives in Surrey. Bob had this picture taken at the 40th reunion.

MAURICE LE GALLAIS-Class 6

Maurice LeGallais A retired C.A., Maurice lives in Vancouver with wife, Eileen. They have 3 children and we know some number of grandchildren because Maurice reports being happiest "anytime a grandchild fell asleep on my shoulder." His extravagance is videography and his favourite journey "our first trip to Vegas in 1968." His fondest memory of Jayo is "cramming the tennis team into a 1946 Hudson." (Now, how many seat belts would that be?) Maurice considers his greatest achievement to be "cancelling study period" and his greatest regret, "not cancelling study period sooner." He would like to be remembered as a guy who "could beat George at pool anytime." His motto: "If at first you don't win, try again." (Perhaps this comes from the accounting adage, If they don't balance, cook the books, or more likely represents Maurices's philosophy at Vegas.) Maurice definitely gets the prize for putting his last 50 years into 50 words (count 'em): graduated - J.O.; studied - architecture; articled - C.A.; married - Eileen; moved - to Penticton; assessed - income tax; fathered - three; moved - back; worked - public practice; played - tennis, curling, skiing, fishing; mined - for gold in California; litigated - re gold in California; gardened - everywhere; decorated - paint, wallpaper; travelled - Europe, Asia, Club Med; taught - grandsons to ride bikes.

Veronica Lund (Mercer) A retired nurse, Veronica and hubby, Albert (who is still active in international consulting) live in North Vancouver; they have 3 daughters and 6 grandchildren. Inveterate travellers, the Mercers have ventured far and wide from Japan to the Middle East, as well as on their sailboat, Gypsy - her greatest extravagance. She reports that they have had many adventures (no doubt). Veronica is proud of staying married and raising 3 well adjusted and successful daughters. She passes on the following: I married in 1954 after receiving my R.N. Left for the U.S. for several years. Back to Van. in 1974, founded a branch office of an engineering firm. After the girls were grown (and before) began extensive travelling. Im sorry we cannot attend the reunion but we leave Aug. 15 for an extended trip to Asia and will not be back until Dec. 15. I hope that everyone has a wonderful time and our best wishes to each and all.

ELMA LUNN-Class 6

a retired teacher, Elma married Alan Young (ex Jayo), had 5 daughters and now has 14 (count 'em) grandchildren. She claims that one of her occupations is "mothering." (No kidding.) Elma enjoys horses and racing and, like so many others, particularly remembers Miss Adams.
