Together they have raised 5 "well-adjusted" children (her proudest achievement) and have 9 grandchildren. Happy wherever she is, "maybe I'm just easy to please." Bev spends her money on her home. Her favourite journey was a nine-month trip around North America in a small motor home. (was it a VW van?) and for the future she plans "more travel, staying physically fit, playing bridge and entertaining." Her favourite memories of Jayo include being on the Student Council, the operettas and drama club. She has no regrets and would like to be remembered as "a loving wife and mother, a good teacher and a good friend." Today she is involved in volunteer work, her church, and sports activites.

ELAINE KORMAN-Class 5

Elaine Korman (Keys) Recently widowed, Elaine and her two cats live in Stalbridge, Dorset, England where Elaine continues her career as a pianist with the English National Opera in London. Of her last 50 years Elaine says, "In 1952 my family moved to Los Angeles; I studied piano with Gwendolyn Koldofsky at U.S.C. In 1959 I came to Englandopera ballet pianist 1964-66 with Royal Opera House, Covent Garden; 1966-68 pianist with Vancouver Opera Training Program; 1971 (to present) opera ballet pianist with English National Opera; moved to Dorset in 1986 where I teach piano and play at local concerts." Elaine considers becoming a professional pianist as well as "arranging my husband's memorial service at St. Paul's Covent Garden Church this May" as her greatest achievement and would like to be remembered "as someone who passed music on to others." (Probably more than you'll ever know Elaine.) Elaine says she was happiest on "my wedding day, April, 1977 in Sydenham, London", and her big extravagance is "buying plants for my garden." She remembers Mr. Robson and playing piano for "The Enchanted Isle" and regrets "not having practised harder!" (Oh you perfectionists! Elaine by the way has been billed as 'a pianist of undisputed ability') Her favourite journey was a trip to Alaska in the '60s and she plans to "continue with music, do some travelling to visit friends." Her motto: "Always give someone a smile."
